Tributes to Kevin Baker

Kevin Baker

NJW mourn the loss of Kevin Baker

The NJW team are a very close group who work hard but also socialise together.

As such, it has been very difficult for the team to come to terms with the tragic loss of Kevin Baker. We all sadly miss his dynamic work ethic, professionalism, helpfulness, logical mind but more importantly his warm friendship.

Kevin unfortunately succumbed to a heart attack on Saturday 3rd of October.

I still walk into the office, expecting to have a conversation and a cup of tea with Kevin to discuss the projects and challenges ahead. His enthusiasm was infectious and had the profound ability of making me feel excited when we were working on a project together.

The funeral was held in Southampton and many wreaths arrived not only from friends and relatives but also from clients such as AstraZeneca, Shell, Pfizer, HSBC and many others. This was the ultimate testament to how highly regarded Kevin was within the industry.

Kevin, rest in peace and all of our thoughts are with you and your family.

I have included a picture of Kevin & NJW Team members on a VIP visit to Buckingham Palace.

NJW were commissioned to capture, implement and maintain the HSBC UK office portfolio within the FM Systems (IWMS) Integrated Workplace Management Solution which had already been rolled out in the USA. the total requirement exceeded 3 million sq feet, 232 floor plans and 61,700 individual room polygons.

NJW enhanced the IWMS solution with iFocalpoint Top HAT Technology providing a branded Property & FM management dashboard. iFocalpoint also provided a connection tool for financial transactions with 9 level cost hierarchy, with over 12,000 cost centres assigned to 54,000 chargeable work locations.

Innovation Expansion for NJW

Sujatha

Sujatha joins the NJW Web Development team

Sujatha has successfully joined the NJW Web Development team and has hit the ground running by managing the British Airways Portal development program whilst also working on projects such as Oxford Brookes University and Johnson Matthey.

Sujatha will be based within the NJW London office from October and be responsible for the ‘iFocalpoint’ Web based solution build procedures, design and documentation team. Sujatha will also work at British Airways, Waterside for 5 days of every month to provide continuous improvement to the highly rated PropertyConnections solution which manages Horizon, Maximo, Archibus and other legacy databases into a consolidated Web portal.

NJW’s Web based solutions evolved as Top HAT technology for existing legacy databases providing a consolidated Web based management dashboard for all Property & FM processes. The excitement of fast tracking working solutions for clients needs to be balanced by strict product build procedures in order to provide efficient support mechanisms and future proofing.

Sujatha’s experience, attention to detail and technology build procedures is the missing link for the rapidly expanding NJW Web development team and closely follows the introduction of Mike Vince who joined NJW last year as the new NJW Creative Director.

With Sujatha successfully integrated into the NJW Web Development team enables NJW Managing Director, Nigel Warrick to investigate the option of seeking a further Web Developer confident that the base product build is being strictly regulated.
